David and Maria Lasater of Mabank celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party hosted by their friends and family at their home on Sunday June 23. The couple was married on June 25, 1955, in Denver, Colo.

Mr. Lasater is a retired Wal-Mart produce manager and Mrs. Lasater taught 22 years at Seagoville High School before retiring.

Both enjoy gardening and their yard was named Yard of the Month twice in the past two years. Mr. Lasater also spends time fishing on Cedar Creek Lake. Mrs. Lasater volunteers as a tutor at several elementary schools.

About 50 friends and family members attended the anniversary party. A buffet lunch was prepared by the couple’s children, Jana May Lasater Pilot and Jonathan Lasater.

The highlight of the party was a presentation of a leather-bound family photo album. There were pictures of the couple when they married and family scenes from throughout their lives. A CD of good wishes from friends and families around the country was attached.

Mr. and Mrs. Lasater also enjoy spending time with their four grandchildren, Larry Pilot, 4 and Jeanie Pilot,6, May Pilot, 7 and Jonathan Lasater, Jr., 10, all of Kemp.
