Rain showers, thankfully, bring lower temperatures
Aug 11, 2008
Rain teased the county Monday – a few sprinkles followed by brief heavy showers. By midnight only .14 of an inch had fallen at Terrell airport, the official reporting station. Crandall Intermediate School reported almost a quarter inch. And Kaufman had .45 inch.
The big relief was the temperature – the high reached 94 degrees then dropped into the 70s. It was expected hit near 70 overnight, the lowest overnight temperature in at least a month.
Tuesday should bring more of the same – highs in the 90s, lows in the mid- to lower-70s. The skies should clear Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures staying in the same range. Rain is possible again at the end of the week.
