Kaufman TAKS scores improve

The percentage of Kaufman students passing the state TAKS test rose slightly this year. The district was up in 15 categories, down in 11 and equal to last year’s score in one category – sixth grade math.

Math seemed to be the most troublesome subject, followed by science. Only 65 percent of ninth graders passed the math test and only 64 percent of 10 graders passed the science test.

Final TAKS scores and school and district rankings will be released by the Texas Education Agency in August.
