93-year-old woman beaten in home

A family member found a 93-year-old woman lying in a pool of blood at her home in the 100 block of West Way Drive a little after 6 p.m. Tuesday night.

She was taken to Parkland hospital by helicopter were she was in critical condition, Terrell police said.

The woman’s car and several items were taken, Terrell police Capt. Arley Sansom said. The car was found about 11 a.m. on Main Street and was being processed for evidence.

Capt. Sansom would not say what as taken from the home hoping to link the items to a suspect.

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department and Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation.
