Pritchard elected to Southern Baptists of Texas office

Messengers to the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention earlier this month elected Forney pastor Jimmy Pritchard as second vice president.

At the Arlington meeting the convention also elected Bob Pearle, pastor of Birchman Baptist Church in Fort Worth, as president and approved a $21.5 million budget.

Dr. Pritchard is the senior pastor of First Baptist Forney. He began his ministry there April 1994. He earned his bachelor's from Sam Houston State University. His master's and doctorate were both earned from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth.

Before to First Baptist Church, Dr. Pritchard pastored churches in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. His last pastorate before First Baptist Forney was at Congress Avenue Baptist Church in Austin.

He and his wife, Jeannette, were married in 1979. They have three children: James, pastor of First Baptist Church, Cache, Oklahoma; John, a MBA student at Texas A&M University; and Julie, a student at Blinn College in College Station, Texas.

Dr. Pritchard also serves as trustee for the International Mission Board for Southern Baptist Convention and trustee of Criswell College in Dallas.
