Gary Lynn Underwood was born in Waxahachie, Texas on September 25, 1946 to George and Anna Cook Underwood. Gary passed away in a Mesquite, Texas hospital on November 6, 2007.

Gary was raised in the Oak Cliff area in Dallas and later joined the U. S. Air Force in 1966. He worked for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department from 1982 to 1985 and later worked for Werner Enterprise as a safety manager for four years in Dallas.

Gary was president of the American Business Men’s United for Charity Organization and president of the Texas Star Rider from 1988 to 1990. Gary was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Kaufman.

On December 26, 1979 Gary married Jeannie Skirvin in Durant, Oklahoma. A daughter, Kimberly Ann Underwood, preceded him in death. Gary is survived by his wife: Jeannie of Kaufman, daughter: Tiffany Howard and her husband Andy of Rowlett, brothers: Doyle Underwood of Malakoff and Herman Underwood of Forney, granddaughter: Brianna Underwood and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Kaufman with interment following in Wilson Chapel Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
