Shall we pray?
Area pastors and Kaufman schools Superintendent Todd Williams are hosting a prayer breakfast for the National Day of Prayer from 9 to 10 a.m. May 1.
A light complimentary breakfast at Kudos on the Square in Kaufman will be served followed by a prayer time.
The public, city and county officials are invited.

For Christmas reflection
When it was time for Tim, with Down Syndrome, to deliver his one line in the Christmas pageant, the whole congregation leaned forward, willing to remember his line.
What he delivered was the best Christmas sermon Riverside Church in New York ever heard.
Marion Wright Edelman, president of the Childern's Defense Fund, hopes everyone will hear Tim's message.

Merciful Saviour starts fall Sunday school season
David Gish, a faith-based motivational speaker and school principal, will be the guest speaker at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 at Our Merciful Saviour Episcopal Church, 500 S. Jackson St., Kaufman.
Mr. Gish mixes faith and humor to provide sound advice for life.
