Tyrone Burnett Father of the Year
Tyrone Burnett, his wife Heike and their sons, Tyus and Tyriq
Tyrone Burnett, father of two and YMCA volunteer, has been named Father of the Year by the Kaufman County YMCA.
Y officials said Mr. Burnett has been a volunteer for about a year working with the soccer and basketball programs.
In a statement supporting his selection, his wife Heike Burnett said she has been impressed by the way her husband makes time for both boys. “It doesn’t matter what he may be doing or watching, if one of them wants to talk to him, he stops what he’s doing and gives his full attention to him,” she said.
Mr. Burnett was selected from nominations by Y members and the community.
