Rain teased the county Monday a few sprinkles followed by brief heavy showers. By midnight only .14 of an inch had fallen at Terrell airport, the official reporting station. Crandall Intermediate School reported almost a quarter inch. And Kaufman had .45 inch.
The big relief was the temperature the high reached 94 degrees then dropped into the 70s. It was expected hit near 70 overnight, the lowest overnight temperature in at least a month.
Tuesday should bring more of the same highs in the 90s, lows in the mid- to lower-70s. The skies should clear Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures staying in the same range. Rain is possible again at the end of the week.
