Look out for your neighbors, look out for your pets and look out for yourself.

Record high heat will continue Sunday with an expected high near 104 degrees and a heat index of 110 degrees. There's also a level orange air pollution alert from the National Weather Service.

Those conditions have caused three deaths in Dallas County since June, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner. Kaufman County figures are not available.

Health officials say the old and young are particularly vulnerable to the heat and urge residents to check in on family and friends who may have trouble coping.

Pets also need extra care with plenty of shade and clean water if they are outside.

And those who exercise and work outside should drink plenty of water and be aware of the symptoms of heat illness. If you have heavy sweating, headache, nausea or are disoriented go to someplace cool until the symptoms ease.

If they get worse, call 911.

Forecasters say the heat is likely to continue another 10 days and there is no rainfall in sight.

The North Texas area is at least four inches behind in rainfall making the fire danger high. Firefighters urge residents to be very careful with anything that might cause a fire outside.
