Goods pawned in Terrell led Kaufman County Sheriff’s investigators to six suspects in a string of car burglaries.
The suspects, five men and a woman, were arrested after a two-week investigation headed by Sgt. Richard Widener. About $20,000 worth of goods were stolen from the cars of 13 victims.
The burglaries, in the county, took place over three to four nights in early April.
Arrested were:
Jason Byrne, 26
Michael Forney, 17
Casey Lumpkin, 17
Justin Elrod, 17
Johnny Hinton Jr., 17
Michaelynn Schwed, 24
Mr. Byrne, Mr. Forney, Mr. Lumpkin and Ms. Schwed were connected to all 13 burglaries and are still in custody on a $40,000 bond. Mr. Elrod and Mr. Hinton have been linked to one burglary and were released after posting a $5,000 bond.
