Edith Oneita Bennett was born in Denton County on January 17, 1919 and went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2008.
Mrs. Bennett was the daughter of Joe and Thirza Garrett of Scurry, TX, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Bennett was also preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Clayton Bennett, Jr. on July 19, 1986 and her son, Lonnie Thurman Bennett on October 27, 2003.
She is survived by six children: Emmett Allen Bennett of Lubbock, Buddy Wayne Bennett of Kaufman, Donald Lee Bennett of Ft. Worth, Josie Dale Vigar of Midland, Judy Ann Johnson of Kaufman and Barbara Jean McKinnon of Kaufmanas well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held at 3:00pm, Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Victory Church in Scurry, TX with Brother Todd Peavy and Brother Bill Callaway officiating. Interment was at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Scurry.
The family received friends Friday, 6-8pm, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kaufman.
