Calvin Platter
Funeral services for Calvin Platter, 70, of Wills Point, were held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Lynn Mullins officiating. Interment was at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.

He passed away late Sunday night, July 22, 2007, at his residence with his family at his side.

Calvin was born November 23, 1936, in Edgewood, Texas, the son of Roy Lee Platter and Lera Inez Bateman Platter. He was raised in the Willow Springs Community near Canton. He attended public school in Edgewood. On May 22, 1959, Calvin married Martha Sue Cunningham in Canton. He was employed as a framing carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and crafts. Calvin had lived in Wills Point for the past forty-eight years and was of the Baptist faith.

Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Wynona Platter in 1924 and Dorthy Marie Burton in 1998 and a brother, Jerry Platter in 1947.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Sue Platter, of Wills Point; son, Steven Platter & wife, Anita, of Wills Point; daughter, Susan Platter, of Plano; three brothers, Haskell Platter, of Canton, Donald Platter & wife, Lee, of Canton and Paul Platter & wife, Sheila, of Rowlett; sister, Patsy Rabe & husband, Dale, of Arlington; three grandchildren, Justin Platter, of Wills Point, Garrett Platter, of Wills Point and Danielle Powell & husband, Thomas, of Marble Falls; one great-granddaughter, Peyton Powell, of Marble Falls; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers: Robert Platter, Roy Platter, Ronnie Burton, Randy Burton, Lance Rabe and Lynn Rodgers.
